Artist Statement
I have been greatly influenced by the American still life artist Ken Davies and by Andrew Wyeth and Alex Colville. I am especially inspired by the old objects and scenes from the “early days” paying close attention to the detail of old wood and the play of light on the object. I find it a challenge to be able to compose an ordinary object or scene in a not so ordinary way, thus, creating a special mood of the moment. ~ Caroline Grimes
